Swatches: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Cava

Happy Friday, Beauties!

A few weeks ago, Bite Beauty released their new Liquified Lipsticks (Under their Amuse Bouche umbrella). This new launch includes 13 shades (12 + 1 exclusive shade).

When I saw that Sephora had an exclusive shade for Beauty Insider VIB Rouge members, I just had to have it! As I’ve previously mentioned, I’m a sucker for anything Limited Edition or exclusive – I know, I’m such a consume right?

According to Sephora, “The liquid lip gets redefined with this handcrafted, moisture-rich, high-pigment formula. Bite Beauty’s most nourishing lipstick, Amuse Bouche, gets liquified, while offering rich, high-impact color and a creamy, comfortable application that glides on with unprecedented precision. Created by hand in small batches, Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick is made with natural monoi butter and coconut oil, which melts at the temperature of your lips to glide on for ultimate wear and a satiny finish. With 12 modern, wearable shades you’ve never seen from Bite Beauty, this collection gives everyday lip color an unexpected twist.”

The shade in particular is Cava. While this shade is available in all of their formulations, it is exclusive in the Liquified Lipstick formula.

In terms of formula, I would say this is definitely more of a pigmented gloss. It is super pigmented, but it does not dry down satin or matte, but rather, stays glossy throughout the wear (When I see Liquid Lipstick, I almost always assume it’s meant to be long lasting and mattifying, and was slightly disappointed to learn this felt more like a gloss). I would say this is extremely similar to Anastasia Beverly Hill glosses.

Both pictures taken in natural light; Pic on the left has been slightly altered with filters. It definitely pulls more of that grey-rose colour on my lips versus an arm swatch.

The formula is extremely comfortable and moisturizing, which I liked. The colour is also fabulous for my skin-tone, and reminiscent of Lime Crime’s Cashmere or LA Splash’s Ghoulish (That grey-nude-rose colour).

Overall, this liquid lipstick is super comfortable and moisturizing, though you have to reapply throughout the day, and it is certainly not transfer-proof. At $28 a pop, you’re better off getting a ColourPop gloss for $6 or an ABH one for $21. But even at $28, you can feel good about having an organic and handcrafted lippie.

Have you tried these new Liquified Lipsticks? Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading, and remember, you’re beautiful!
