Happy Sunday, Beauties!
I’ve decided to introduce a new “series” to my blog – Sample Sunday! Pretty self explanatory, but this will be a mini-series that re-occurs every Sunday.
I’ve got this HUGE box of samples, and every Sunday moving forward I will pick 5 samples to test out that week, and I’ll come back here every week to let you know my thoughts and whether it’s worth buying the full-sized product or not!
This week, I randomly picked the following 5 samples:
Name: DevaCurl Buildup Buster
Price: Full Size = $37.00 CAD, making this sample worth $4.62 CAD (Approx)
Review: I’ve never used or heard of a product like this so I was excited to try it out. While the sample was huge and I was able to use it 3 times, it really did make my hair feel SUPER clean, which is probably helpful for people who use a ton of hair care products (which I don’t really). All I can say is that you need to use a super moisturizing conditioner immediately after because I could see this product being drying without it.
Would I buy the full-size?: No (just because I don’t think I need a product like this for regular use)
Name: TonyMoly BCDation
URL: I can only find this on Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/TONYMOLY-BCDATION-SPF30-Bright-Beige/dp/B00ID2RNHK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504875508&sr=8-1&keywords=tonymoly+bcdation)
Price: Full Size = $22.80 CAD, making this sample worth $0.45 (Approx)
Review: While this was a little too dark for me, this had about 2-3 days worth of product, which makes this great for travelling. I used lightning drops so that it would match my skintone. This is a BB and CC cream foundation mixed, and it applied medium to full coverage, which I was pleasantly surprised with! It lasted all day and my contour/blush/highlight lasted as well!
Would I buy the full-size?: Yes!
Name: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – Oil-Free
Price: Full Size = $50, making this sample worth $1.66 (Approx)
Review: As a an oily-skinned gal, I try to stay away from silicone-based primers, or those that have the texture of silicone-based primers, such as this one. While it’s oil-free (great for oily gals or gals with sensitive skin), I’m put off by the texture and how it absorbs into my skin. However, it does a good job of filling pores and priming the makeup. That’s just my personal opinion.
Would I buy the full-size?: No
Name: Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner
Price: Full Size = $28.00 CAD, making this sample worth $0.30 (Approx)
Review: I think the packaging on this whole line super cute and appealing, I love the who Pharmacy look and feel. I was excited to try this toner because I love Dr. Belmeur sheet masks. This sample was enough for 2 applications, however, the smell is really strong, almost sulphur-like. Not sure if this is what it’s supposed to smell like, but I couldn’t stand it. Also, this felt more like a serum than a liquid toner. Bonus though, it didn’t feel try or tight on my skin!
Would I buy the full-size?: I would need to try a few more samples to be sure, and I would need to get over the scent. So maybe!
Name: Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser
URL: I couldn’t find the exact product on Sephora, but this is the closest thing: https://www.sephora.com/product/thermal-black-cleanser-P381006?skuId=1406966&icid2=products%20grid:p381006
Price: Full Size = $40.00 CAD, making this sample worth $0.67 CAD (Approx)
Review: I love Boscia products, and this cleanser was no different. It made my skin feel super clean and literally felt like it “detoxed” my skin – My pores appeared smaller and my skin looked brighter.
Would I buy the full-size?: Yes! They have a smaller version for $14.00CAD so I may try that first!
Have you ever tried any of the above products? If so, leave your thoughts in the comments! Thanks for reading, beautiful!
