Happy Sunday, Beauties!
Let’s get right into Sample Sunday, shall we?
This week, I picked the 5 following samples.
Name: The Estee Edit Pore Vanishing Stick
URL: Since Sephora doesn’t seem to carry this brand anymore, and I can’t find this product on Estee Lauder’s website, I can’t link out to one for purchase! If you find a link, let us know in the comments below!
Review: This product is odd, I don’t understand why there’s a beige colour in the middle – You’re supposed to mix them together but it just appears translucent on the skin. It isn’t meant to be a concealer, so it seems pointless. Regardless, this was super heavy and silicone-y. While it did a good job filling in my pores, it made my makeup slip and slide around my face.
Would I buy the full-size?: Even if I could find out where to buy this, I wouldn’t.
Name: GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment
Price: Full Size = $24.00 – $115.00 CAD (Different sizes available)
Review: I already love this mask and have used it a few times! It works amazingly as a spot-treatment when I get a breakout. I just dab it on and the next morning, my blemish is reduced in size. This mask is very drying (which is why it’s great for my oily skin) so I’m not sure how it would fare for those with dry skin.
Would I buy the full-size?: Though I love Glamglow, I just can’t in good conscious pay $79 for the fullsize, when I have similar masks. However, when I see sets of the minis, I do buy those – I currently have about 3-4 deluxe sample sized tubes, and since I mainly use it as a spot treatment, they last forever!
Name: Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna
Price: Full Size = $52.00 CAD
Review: I own this bronzer in a deluxe sample size that I received in a Sephora Collection box, as well as the multi-stick (both in Laguna). But it’s cool to see a sample of a powder product, it’s lasted me literally all week! This is a nice shade for those with a fair skintone like myself; Not too shimmery and not too orange, I love it!
Would I buy the full-size?: No, simply because I am trying to make a more conscious effort to not buy from companies who test on animals (obviously, all Nars products I own were purchased before this change).
Name: Tarte Skincare Maracuja C-Brighter eye treatment
Price: Full Size = $48.00 CAD
Review: This was so moisturizing under my eye! I used it at night and before applying my makeup in the morning. I can’t tell if it really “brightened” my under eyes since I was only able to use it for a few days, but it absorbed quickly and made my eyes feel moisturized.
Would I buy the full-size?: I’m still in love with my eye cream from Kiehl’s, but maybe once it runs out I will give this Tarte one a go!
Name: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Intensive Peel
Price: Full Size = $40.00 CAD
Review: I haven’t tried too many products by FAB but I was excited to try this. However, this really stings the face! You’re apparently only supposed to wear it for 5-10 minutes but I could barely make it past 5 minutes. I don’t have excessively sensitive skin and can usually “take the burn” So to speak. When I washed it off my face felt smooth but not noticeably different. I was excited because this has amazing reviews on the Sephora website, but I think I’ll try it again until the sample is empty to see if I see a difference, I’ll try to power through the burn!
Would I buy the full-size?: Not just yet, I would like to try a few more samples of this to see if it’s as amazing as what the reviews claim it to be!
Have you tried any of these products before? If so, let me know your thoughts below!
Have a great week and remember, you’re beautiful!
