Happy Friday, Beauties!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m talking about the season of gift giving (anyone else prefer to give than to receive? Same!). Since we’re one month away from Christmas, I decided to prepare weekly Gift Giving Guides from now until then! Of course, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, these all make wonderful gifts for any and all occasions, be it Chanukah, a hostess gift, birthday gift, or everything in between!
This week’s installment, and probably my personal favourite, is for the makeup lover in your life. I should preface that this week’s gifts are available for purchase at Sephora, either online or in-store, so let’s get started!
These Sephora Favourite lip sets are honestly some of my favourite gifts to give, and let’s be honest, to receive. I did a gift exchange with the wonderful ladies from the CBB group, and my Secret Santa, Deidre, sent me the Nude Lip kit, and I’ve been obsessed! The best part about this gift, is that it comes with 5 lipsticks – This means, that you could totally separate the lipsticks and give them to 5 different friends, either wrapped up with ribbon and attached to a gift, or even as part of a stocking stuffer! To spruce it up a notch, it would be super cute if you included a homemade lip scrub; you can find some lovely DIY lip scrub recipes here (my fave is the cinnamon one). You can pick up little jars at Michael’s and probably at your local dollar store or Dollarama!
Sephora Favourites – Lash Stash & Lash Stash to Go ($58.00 CAD & $36.00 CAD)
Keeping on with Sephora Favourites sets, this is another one of my favourites to give and to receive. You can splurge and get the more expensive set, which includes 2 full-size mascara’s and a pair of Huda Beauty lashes, or, you can get the Lash Stash To Go, which is more inexpensive, comes with 5 deluxe-size mascaras, and a coupon to redeem one of the five at Sephora for a full-size mascara! This is a great gift as one deluxe-size mascara should last someone about a month, so this gift literally will last a person 6 months or more! Looking to amp up this gift? You could separate these into gifts for 5-10 friends (depending on the kit you get), and include a mini/travel size bottle of eye makeup remover, an eyeliner, or an eyelash curler!
Bite Beauty Champagne Discovery Lip Set ($39.00 CAD)
For the makeup lover in your life who prefers all-natural beauty products, this Bite Beauty set has it all. It comes with 3 full-size products: The Multistick and Lip Pencil (Both in Cashew, a super flattering mauve/nude shade that compliments every skin tone) and a Prismatic Pearl Crème Lip Gloss in Champagne. Again, you can split these up into 3 different gifts, and pair them with a mini bottle of rose champagne and DIY lip scrubs!
Tarte Treasure Box Collectors Set ($77.00 CAD)
If you want to splurge on the makeup-love who truly has it all, or even for the makeup and travel lover, this collectors set will make such an amazing gift, because it literally comes with everything you need. The set comes with 24 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, 2 bronzers, a highlighter, full-size eyeliner, deluxe size mascara and deluxe size lip paint. What more could a person need? It all comes together in one beautiful package, and has a little storage compartment built into the side to stow away the eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. Now, if you wanted to amp this gift up more, you could totally add a beauty on the fly bag (found here: https://www.sephora.com/product/beauty-on-fly-bag-P417917?searchTerm=beauty%20on%20the%20fly&country_switch=ca) and fill it up with travel-size goodies, like a mini setting spray, dry shampoo or hairspray!
Sephora Gift Cards and E-Gift Cards
I know some people dislike receiving or giving gift cards as it may seem like a cop-out, but honestly, I can’t tell you how many times my friends or family try to buy me makeup, and I end up receiving doubles of things I already own, or I get products that are the wrong shade for me. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful because I am very grateful that my friends and family put thought and effort into finding me wonderful gifts, but the honest truth is that I sometimes need to return gifts to Sephora to exchange it for something I don’t already have. If you’re unsure of what your friend/coworker/partner/sibling or parent likes, opt for a Sephora gift card. It usually comes with either a cute little travel mirror, or a little clutch. The person can use this card online or in-store, and you could always ask the cashier at Sephora for a handful of samples to add to this gift to make it more substantial.
That’s it for this week’s Gift Giving Guide, beauties! Next week I will be sharing a Skincare edition of my 2017 Gift Giving Guide, so stay tuned!
