Happy Friday, Beauties!
I hope you enjoyed last week’s first installment of my 2017 Gift Giving Guide!
This week’s installment is for the Skincare lover in your life – Whether this person wears makeup or not, it’s definitely a safe gift to give so that your loved one can have beautiful glowing skin. Plus, everyone loves to pamper themselves!
This week’s products can be found at Sephora, most drug stores, or online. Let’s get started!
A few weeks ago, Tweezerman sent me their Dermaplaner and Cleansing Brush as PR Samples, and since then, both have become a go-to in my daily & weekly skincare routine to get my skin glowing and looking amazing. If you’re not familiar with Dermaplaning, it’s when you use a small razor to gently exfoliate your skin by removing the dead and dry skin on your face, as well as the light peach fuzz most of us have (Ps, no, it doesn’t grow back thicker and darker, that’s a myth!). The results? Super smooth and glowing skin, which makes applying makeup a dream. This one from Tweezerman is gentle and non-invasive, and a great “DIY” at-home version, at a fraction of the cost of professional dermaplaning at a spa. The brush I received is an affordable alternative to electric face brushes (think along the lines of a Clarisonic). It helps to gently exfoliate your skin and remove stubborn dirt and makeup, resulting in a super clean face. It’s hard to tell, but the bristles are ultra soft and not at all abrasive. Using both in tandem a few times a week can help your loved one achieve gorgeous glowing skin! To amp up this gift, try pairing it with a nice clay face mask; You can DIY one (Check out this easy DIY version) or get this cult favourite from Amazon). If you’d prefer, you could also get sheet masks. SooAE has them at Walmart in Canada for under $5.
Foreo LUNA Play ($49.00 CAD)
In keeping with the theme of skincare tools, Foreo has a large line-up of electric face brushes. This is their smallest and most affordable one. The only downside about this version is that it’s non-rechargeable, unlike their other ones. However, this little guy will last up to 100 washes. I’ve had mine for nearly a year and it’s still going strong, so for this price, it’s a fantastic buy! Again, this is a great alternative to Clarisonic brushes, and it won’t breed bacteria because it’s made with silicone. It’s also very gentle on the skin while still allowing for light exfoliation. This would be a great gift on its own, or to make it more substantial, you can pair it with a skincare gift set – Pixi Skintreats has a couple different sets, available at Shoppers Drug Mart!
Fresh Lip Bundle ($41.00 CAD)
Face products can sometimes be risky for some people, especially if you’re not sure what skin type your “giftee” has. A safe option would be a lip care set, like this one from Fresh (Bite Beauty also has a wonderful set but it’s no longer available online!). For $41, you get a full-size lip treatment, a deluxe-size lip polish and 2 deluxe-size lip therapy treatments. You could also opt for the DIY version if this, and create a homemade lip scrub and homemade lip balm. To dress this gift up a notch, pair it with a beautiful lipstick (Nude shades are a safe bet).
Josie Maran Pure Argan Duo ($25 CAD)
This next gift is also available at Sephora, but you can get argan oil just about anywhere, like drugstores, Winners/Marshalls, and Walmart. You can find both the type for skin, and for hair. The best part of this gift is the duality of it. Real/Pure argan oil can be used on the skin and on the hair, however, make sure you get PURE argan oil if you want to gift this for the skin, as most argan oil products for the hair are only to be used on the hair. If you’re going the skincare route, pair a bottle of argan oil with a super soft washcloth or a face mask. If you’re going the route of haircare, pair this with a cute wooden hairbrush or hair accessories!
Tony Moly Sheet Mask Set $28.00 CAD
For the Sheet-Mask obsessed person in your life (aka, me), this mask set is the best bang for your buck! You can find this set online through Amazon, and you can also find it at Aerie. The one on Amazon is a pack of 11, and I believe the set at Aerie is a pack of 5. Whichever route you choose to take, you could either gift the whole pack to one person, or separate the pack for multiple presents to multiple people! This would make a great gift for your co-workers, you could tie a cute lip balm to it using Holiday twine. Or, if you want to gift the whole set, pair it with cute reusable gel eye coolers, like these ones from Amazon. You can also find something similar from a different brand at both Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart in Canada.
That’s it for this week, beauties! Stay tuned for next week’s installment of my 2017 Holiday Gift Giving Guide, Men’s Edition!
Thanks for reading and remember, you’re beautiful!
